Street Food Temple

Hello, bonjour, hola!

On Friday night, Sam and I ventured down to Le Carreau du Temple to check out a street food festival I'd heard about. Its a three day food festival, with food trucks surrounding the building, serving every type of food you can imagine - I'm talking fish and chips, burritos, steak, brownies, acai bowls, the lot! It seems that each year, the festival honours a different country. This year Korea was the chosen country, so there were Korean bars and lots of different stalls serving all sorts of Korean food as well as Korean DJ's performing on stage.

La Glace Mobile - cutest ice cream van I've ever seen

We did a full circle of the food trucks (which are also called 'les foodtrucks' in French, how creative) outside and all the stalls inside because there was absolutely no way I was risking food envy at a food festival! We chose to get burritos from Señor Boca, not your typical French food but I'm a sucker for a burrito and oh man, it was a good choice. This burrito had everything in it; rice, chicken, smoked chipotle salsa, cheese, cream... it was the stuff of dreams and I am definitely keen to check out their restaurant BocaMexa (its on Rue Mouffetard in the 5th arrondissement for anyone coming to Paris who might want to pay them a visit!).

After our burritos, we both had a drink - I went for champagne because it was the same price as a pint of beer (Paris, je t'aime) and Sam had a martini. Classy kids, we are. The atmosphere (and food!) was lovely, would definitely recommend to any Paris visitors!

À bientôt!
